“Baptism of the Christ with Dove” by Daniel Bonnell

It came to pass in those days
that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee,
and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
And immediately, coming up from the water,
He saw the heavens parting
and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove.
Then a voice came from heaven,
“You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
(Mark 1:9–11, emphasis added)

Have you ever heard God speak? Have you ever had an experience where you know beyond any shadow of a doubt God has spoken?

For me, it is an emphatic knowing that God means business about something.

I remember hearing God speak to my objections to answering the call.
“What will I do with a degree in communications in the ministry?” I objected. “You will communicate the gospel,” God answered.

Then there was the time when I wanted to do something and God said no.
It was clear and unmistakable. God did not want me to make that choice, even though I wanted it badly.
